Reduce and Reuse
Sustainability starts with simple choices that make a big impact. Across campus there are several opportunities to reduce waste and reuse items every day:
Water Bottle Refill Stations
Water bottle refill stations help you stay hydrated while cutting down on single use plastics.
Did you know that there are over 120 water bottle refill stations on campus? Many were funded by Sustainable Campus Fee projects. Over 20 were installed by the MTSU Center for Health and Human Services as part of the Blue Raiders Drink Up project.

Reusable To-Go Containers
In McCallie Dining Hall, you can enjoy a to-go meal without the extra waste. In 2025, MT Dining switched from using Styrofoam containers to reusable containers, cutting out over 59,000 Styrofoam containers a year!

MTSU Career Closet
Since 2013, the Career Closet has helped students prepare for interviews, internships, and professional events by offering free, gently used business attire. Located in Keathley University Center, Room 328, this resource is operated by the Career Development Center and powered by donations from the campus and community, which are accepted year-round. Check out their website to learn more.

Free Cycle
Every fall since 2022, MTSU students have had the opportunity to outfit their apartment or dorm for free with lightly used household items. The event is run by MT One Stop and located in the Student Services and Admissions Center.
